THE STORY OF
Bramble & Belle..
After working in an office for over 10 years, I never considered myself to have an artistic side, despite the fact that I was always crafting away at home and making jewellery or attending pottery classes. After a handful of unfulfilling job changes, I knew I needed to take a different route in my career. At the time, my husband and I were completely redesigning our little garden at our first house, both sharing a love of gardening that blossomed our ideas about creative jobs to do with flowers and plants. This eventually led to me enrolling at a local horticultural college to study floristry, taking place once a week for two years – all while still working my office job. Long story short; I was completely hooked. Floristry became this amazing vehicle that allowed me to tune into my undiscovered artistic skills, while working with natural products to create something spectacular.
After completing my course, I was lucky enough to land a role working in a busy floristry business that had a wedding side alongside the shop. It didn’t take long for me to fall head over heels in love with weddings (and the wedding flowers, of course). Soon enough, I spent my working days immersed in the wonderful world of weddings. Around 7 years ago, after the happiest of years at the shop, I craved the freedom of working for myself and the opportunity to explore my own design skills. I took the plunge to leave my job and start a business.
I am now in my 18th year as a wedding florist and I completely and utterly adore what I do. From the practical days where I’m surrounded by beautiful blooms to the desk-based days where I’m whipping up gorgeous flower proposals, I count my lucky stars every single day that I get to be a wedding florist. And I truly can’t wait to play a floral part in your forever moment…
