Tucked away in the picturesque village of Bentley, Bury Court Barn offers an enchanting wedding venue, surrounded by idyllic countryside, landscapes and oodles of spaces to celebrate love stories. The barn is full of interesting antiques and treasures, bringing couples a warm and welcoming feel. When Emily and Jeevan approached me at Bramble & Belle Floral Design to provide beautiful blooms for their big day, I was immediately thrilled to be working with the couple at such a stunning location. With Hannah MacGregor Photography on hand to capture every moment as it unfolded, it’s a joy to be able to share their special day with you on the journal.
The couple had their hearts set on a dreamy cottage garden ambience for their summer celebration, where our team collaborated with the soon-to-be newlyweds to bring their vision to life. The bride’s bouquet was overflowing with English cottage garden flowers in pale cornflower blue, delectable peach and soft ivory hues, offering a relaxed, natural and organic feel. We focused on British-grown flowers sourced from two local growers, including cosmos, antirrhinums, sunflowers, nicotiana, scabious, corncockle, ammi and cornflowers. A flowing hand-dyed ribbon finished off the bridal bouquet to complete perfection. Meanwhile, Emily’s two bridesmaids wore olive green dresses which looked wonderful against the contrast of their summer bouquets. Jeevan and his groomsmen wore matching green suits, tying in with the aesthetic of the venue seamlessly.
Our floristry team transformed their indoor space into a breath taking canvas of elegant English country garden vibes. With initial plans to get married outdoors in the summer sunshine, we had to change to an indoor location at the last-minute as their July wedding happened to fall on an incredibly rainy day. As with every wedding, we always have a plan B in place to ensure every eventuality (such as unpredictable weather) is handled seamlessly and discreetly. Two statement urns were brimming with beautiful summer flowers, including garden roses, delphiniums and cosmos, serving a stunning focal point as the bride walked down the aisle. The aisle was also dressed with dainty meadow boxes that further elevated the cottage garden feel we wanted to create.
We always encourage making the most of your wedding flowers here at Bramble & Belle Floral Design, which is why we repurposed Emily and Jeevan’s ceremony flowers to their reception. The urn arrangements found a new home behind the top table, while the meadow boxes looked equally delightful placed along the front, tying the entire venue together in a symphony of cottage-inspired florals. As guests were guided into the wedding breakfast area, the guests were seated at round tables that were styled with terracotta plant pots with seasonal florals, bud vases and dainty tea lights for a warm glow. Meanwhile, the top table was styled to perfection with matching terracotta pots and tea lights.
It was wonderful working with Emily and Jeevan to adorn their love story with beautiful blooms! We hope you enjoyed a glimpse of their celebration (you’ll find plenty more floral inspiration waiting for you on our Instagram page). If you are planning your wedding day in 2024/25, we welcome you to get in touch to talk about all things flowers!
