An exquisite country house wedding venue in West Sussex, Findon Place is surrounded by acres of picturesque gardens and rolling countryside. It comes as no surprise that Anna and Charlie chose it as the setting for their love story and it was a true pleasure to work with the couple alongside the venue to provide luxury floral design for their summer wedding. I couldn’t resist bringing you a glimpse inside their sunshine-filled celebration, so get scrolling and soak up all the flowery inspiration you could ever need…
Wanting to make the most of the gorgeous grounds on offer at Findon Place, the couple had their hearts set on an alfresco ceremony in the garden. Hosted in July last year, the weather (thankfully) played ball, and Anna and Charlie were spoilt with blue skies for the duration of the day. When Anna and Charlie initially approached me, they imagined an elegant and timeless wedding day with a soft country garden style and a classic white and green colour palette. The floral theme began at the ceremony, which took place at the base of the steps within the gardens, while the view of endless green fields acted as the backdrop. As a luxury wedding florist, nothing brings me more joy than being able to get utterly creative with wedding flowers, and I adored designing a unique feature to frame their vows. We created a statement ceremony piece consisting of two asymmetric floral columns with a semi-circular meadow connecting them, offering an intimate and romantic feel that worked perfectly with the outdoor ceremony space.
As Anna made her way down the aisle, she carried a bridal bouquet that was overflowing with sumptuously seasonal flowers. Roses and peonies took centre stage alongside smaller, delicate blooms. Orlaya and sweet peas offered a whimsical, undone yet elegant feel that added movement to the bridal bouquet. The combination effortlessly created a natural garden-esque style without looking too heavy amongst the roses and peonies. I adore adding those all-important finishing touches to a bridal bouquet, so we wrapped hand-dyed silk ribbons to the stems of Anna’s design, opting for matching silk that tied around Charlie’s buttonhole too. Anna’s bridesmaids looked divine in satin green gowns, flawlessly tying in with their stylish colour palette.
After the ceremony, Anna and Charlie’s were gracefully guided into the Ballroom, where we had adorned the tables with country-garden flowers displayed in glass footed bowls. Classic glass candlesticks and ivory tapered candles accompanied the table flowers, further elevating the minimalist green and white colour palette. The couple had wanted to repurpose their ceremony flowers so they could continue enjoying their beauty throughout the rest of their big day, so we styled the fireplaces in the Ballroom and Hall with semi-circular meadow arrangements that subtly added a fabulous floral touch to the venue.
As Anna and Charlie’s guests gathered around for the couple to cut their cake, their edible masterpiece stood proudly adorned with fresh flowers, boasting big blousy blooms that cascaded their way around the front of the cake.
