A Summer Love Story for Jenny & Rowan at Cowdray Walled Garden

The Walled Garden at Cowdray is one our favourite wedding venues to work at, so when Jenny and Rowan enquired with Bramble & Belle about their summer wedding last June, we just knew it was going to be utterly beautiful. They exchanged their vows under blue skies and sunshine, surrounded by romantic blooms, whimsical vibes and the most elegant backdrop you can imagine.

Jenny and Rowan dreamt of a neutral colour palette with an elegant and whimsical feel for their summer love story, accompanied by mauve and blue accents in the lightest of shades. They wanted their wedding flowers to work in harmony with the Walled Garden at Cowdray, embracing the relaxed and romantic style, while focusing on blousy blooms such as peonies and roses.

Guided by the vision of relaxed romantic English country garden, we curated a bouquet for Jenny that effortlessly mirrored the beauty of the surroundings. A palette of pale blues, soft lilac and ivory, Jenny’s bridal bouquet was brimming with a thoughtful mixture of peonies, roses, clematis, delphinium, nigella, orlaya, oxypetalum and ageratum – teamed with handfuls of mid-green foliage artfully woven in. The bouquet carried the delicate fragrance of mint which was a refreshing touch! Light blue and white hand-dyed silk ribbons cascaded freely, adding movement and enchantment to the bridal bouquet.

The ceremony

Jenny and Rowan’s outdoor wedding ceremony unfolded in the garden, where our floristry team had meticulously crafted two stunning floral columns against the venue’s iconic wooden pagoda. The couple were spoilt with a warm and clear day, with meadow-style arrangements that adorned the aisle and a garden brimming with the prettiest seasonal posies. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their loved ones made the most of the setting with a drinks reception in the garden, before moving to the Castle Room for the wedding breakfast.

The reception

As with many of our weddings, we repurposed the ceremony flowers to the dining area, placing the floral columns in the corners of the room to elevate the space and add a hint of luxury. Pots brimming with meadow-esque blooms and a variety of lanterns were placed upon windowsills, bringing a floral touch to the blank canvas space at Cowdray. Jenny and Rowan opted for long trestle tables that were styled with pale blue napkins and gilded candlesticks. Our signature Bramble & Belle bud vases added a ‘just picked from the garden’ ambience to the tablescapes. We adored the couple’s creative table plan idea, which was housed in an antique wooden box and surrounded by fresh florals provided by Bramble & Belle. Every element of Jenny and Rowan’s wedding day was infused with romance, charm and personality.
